Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI)™
This widely used 360-degree feedback tool measures emotional intelligence (EI). Daniel Goleman defines EI as “the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in ourselves and in our relationships.” The ECI process includes assessments from multiple perspectives—manager, direct reports, peers, customer/clients, and others, as well as a self-assessment. It accommodates an unlimited number of raters.
Although there is a genetic component to EI, studies prove that emotional intelligence can be learned and retained over the long term. The ECI focuses on self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and relationship management, and measures 18 EI competencies. In addition, it includes verbatim comments. The ECI highlights gaps between how leaders perceive themselves and how others perceive them. The ECI is a psychometrically sound instrument and feedback report gives detailed information in a variety of formats, to assist you in developing improved Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
